farnham creates
This is a town that once exported white clay to the Romans. It is the home of potters who have produced work for destinations as diverse as Liberty, Clarence House, a palace roof in Rangoon and a toilet in Wrecclesham. There’s also the art college, established in 1880 and now thriving as the University College for the Creative Arts; and the Maltings, bought by the people of the town in 1970, and transformed into the largest arts and community centre in the South East. No surprise then, that Farnham is increasingly seen as a hot spot for creativity in the region.
New Ashgate Gallery, Crafts Study Centre, Farnham Maltings and the University College for the Creative Arts are building on a long history of making and learning in the town.
Farnham Creates…a community arts festival
This year we a please to be involved in the generation of ‘a community arts festival’. Over the month of May along with local shops, pubs, schools the Farnham Creates group will be celebrating Farnham Arts and community in a month long celebration.
